Cro-Mags Age of Quarrel 40th Anniversary Boot
Forty years ago, the Cro-Mags put out Age of Quarrel and changed hardcore for good. It was heavy, fast, and built in the Lower East Side. This boot, made in collaboration with Head’s Threads & Heavy Treads, is built to match: no frills, uncompromising, made to last.
The 8-eye boot is cut from full-grain chrome semi-aniline-tanned leather in oxblood or black. It’s substantial from the first lace-up, like the first time you heard “We Gotta Know” come through a bad PA. The leather settles in over time and develops its own character with every wear. The fully leather-lined upper and padded leather insole let the boot breathe and shape itself to your foot, so by the end of its first season it feels like yours.
Underneath is a Vibram 132 Montagna Commando sole in black or honey, with a steel shank and Goodyear welt construction. That means it grips the pavement, holds its ground in the pit, and can be resoled instead of replaced. A sturdy toe stiffener keeps the shape through hard wear, and the gusseted tongue stays securely in place.
Age of Quarrel was never about taking it easy. Neither is this boot. Lace up, stand your ground, and wear them for years to come.
